The DILG-ARMM thru its Regional Information Officer and DPR/CCA Focal Person will attend the Stakeholders’ Meeting in the province of Maguindanao on 23-24 May 2016.

In 2011, the United Nations-World Food Programme institutionalized the Disaster Preparedness and Response/Climate Change Adaptation (DPR/CCA) Programme. Its end-goal is to build community resilience by supporting local government units (LGUs) in developing and implementing community-based mitigation and disaster preparedness and response projects. The Programme initially supported four of the most disaster-prone provinces in the Philippines. By 2015, its geographic coverage is in ten provinces nationwide, and its implementing partners number 40 LGUs, 10 academic institutions and 10 non-government organizations.

Phase 3 of the DPR/CCA Programme was completed in June 2015, while, the implementation of Phase 4 projects is midway and ending in June 2016. The stakeholders’ meeting aims to serve as a venue for current partners to report on their progress and for partners in Phase 3 to share their accomplishments after direct WFP support ended in 2015.
